In this 88th episode, Rodrigues talks about expanding data centers in Brazil to meet the needs of industry 4.0. According to the CBIE partner, the prospect is that data center projects in Brazil will gain even more strength by the end of this decade.
“The greater the adoption by companies of tools such as artificial intelligence, big data analysis and cryptocurrency mining, the more data centers are needed to process, store and distribute this new volume of data”, explains Rodrigues.
There are at least 12 data center projects in process at the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), associated with these consumers’ access to the transmission network. The country already has the largest data processing market in the Americas, outside the USA, in São Paulo, in addition to having ideal conditions in terms of strategic location, energy costs and concentration of the regional economy.
For Rodrigues, the national energy sector needs to consider technological innovations combined with what already exists. “Sector authorities are beginning to adapt the legal framework in order to prepare the ground for the inevitable expansion of national processing capacity”says Pedro.
