Ex-Colonel of the SBU Starikov: Russian strikes on Ukrainian air bases will not allow the F-16 to take off
Russian strikes on Ukrainian air bases will prevent the F-16 fighters supplied to Kyiv from taking off. This was stated by retired Colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Oleg Starikov on air YouTube– channel “News Factory”.
“Airplanes like the F-16 are generally high-quality, but they are very capricious when the runway must be perfectly clean,” Starikov said.
He noted that it would be difficult for fighters to take off due to attacks on air bases. The ex-colonel emphasized that it is problematic to restore these facilities in the shortest possible time.
Earlier, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance Jens Stoltenberg said that the alliance and Ukraine had approved a roadmap for military-technical cooperation. However, the NATO Secretary General did not disclose any details.
In addition, he avoided a direct answer to the question of whether Ukraine is allowed to attack Russian territory with the help of Western F-16 fighters, saying only that Ukraine has the right to defend itself, and NATO countries have the right to help it.
