A large dog got free and attacked the jack russell terrier.
Large size a rottweiler attacked a small dog in the dog forest parking lot. The Jack Russell Terrier suffered serious injuries as a result of the attack and had to have his spleen removed.
Last week, the District Court of Varsinais-Suomen dealt with a criminal case in which the prosecutor applied for punishment for the owner of a rottweiler and the owner’s spouse for not guarding the animal.
The same dog attacked a walker in the spring of 2021 in Pyhäranta.
At that time, the owner of the dog was in his yard with his two rottweilers. The plot was not fenced.
When a couple walked past the lot, both dogs ran up to the couple. Another of the dogs bit the man on the leg.
At that time, the District Court of Varsinais-Finland sentenced the owner of the dog to a fine for injury.
The owner of the dog insisted that the rottweiler was still a puppy at the time of the incident. The court found that the dog was one and a half years old at the time of the first attack.
The second attack took place in October last year in the parking lot of a dog park in Varsinais-Suomi.
Koirametsä is a rented fenced area where the dog can move and play freely.
Prosecutor according to the couple left an animal dangerous to humans without proper guarding. The couple was taking their dogs to the dog park, and the dog’s owner was just getting water bowls for the dogs from the car.
An adult male Rottweiler weighs about 50 kilograms.
A woman who was walking her Jack Russell terrier was walking past the couple’s car and asked to be sure if the dogs were on leash. The owner answered in the affirmative.
Despite this, one of the Rottweilers got loose and attacked the small dog.

The owner’s spouse went after the rottweiler and had to wrestle with the animal to get it to release its bite from the smaller dog.
According to the court, the couple was guilty of grossly negligent failure to guard the animal. The court also stated that the dog in question is dangerous to humans.
The smaller dog was operated on at the animal hospital and its treatment costs were around 6,000 euros.
The couple entered into a bond with the owner of the victim’s dog to compensate for the damages. Because the bond had been complied with, and because the owner of the jack russell terrier asked the court to consider the bond, the court decided to leave the couple unsentenced.
