Phil Spencerthe head of Microsoft’s Xbox division, may not have taken kindly to thenuclear attack addressed to its base in Fallout 76 and perhaps he is preparing to respond in equal measure.
For those who don’t know what we’re talking about, let’s take a step back. A few days ago a player targeted the CAMP created in Fallout 76 by Phil Spencer, known as “P3” on Xbox Live, with a nuclear attack.
Apparently it seemed like a sort of playful spite at the news of the closure of Tango Gameworks, Akane Austin and two other Bethesda studios which had occurred shortly before, but, as reported by Kotaku, the player responsible for the attack, real1090jake on X, explained that destroying Spencer’s base was simply “a personal goal after completing the Fallout 76 campaign” that he had been planning for some time. He also admitted that he tried to challenge him in a 1v1 duel, but that Spencer didn’t attack him in response and limited himself to performing the heart gesture emote.
Is P3 preparing for the counterattack?
As mentioned at the beginning, apparently Spencer is now preparing to respond in kind to his nemesis or at least has organized himself to have the necessary means for a counter-offensive in the event of further attacks. As reported by Rebs Gaming on X, the head of the Xbox division has completed the main mission “Officer on Deck”.
For those who don’t know, this mission is necessary to unlock access to the bunkers that allow you to fire nukes on the map. It is one of the last main missions of the game and takes a good amount of time to complete, which means that it is plausible that Phil focused on the main missions of Fallout 76 precisely with the aim of unlock the nukes as soon as possible.
It will be interesting to find out whether Spencer actually takes revenge or not. Certainly, amidst the not exactly positive news surrounding the Xbox brand these days, it is pleasant to also deal with lighter topics.
