Employees, employees and senior employees in the industry will start a ban on overtime.
Technology industry Employee groups – employees belonging to SAK’s Confederation of Finnish Industry, employees of STTK’s trade union Pro and senior employees of Akatala’s YTN – announced on Friday that they would start banning overtime immediately. The announcements were expected after negotiations with the technology industry employers’ association broke down on Tuesday by a joint decision of the parties.
Views on, among other things, the level of wage increases were too far apart. A new meeting had not yet been arranged on Friday.
With the ban on overtime, wage unions are adding pressure to negotiations. The ban on overtime and shift work is the most lenient end of industrial action, but in the current boom, they are also causing frost for companies whose order books are full for a year to come.
At the same time, the Confederation of Finnish Industry warned of its readiness for more violent industrial action, ie a strike.
