Dossierage, from investigated to sanctified by the Left: Usigrai defends the journalists of “Domani”
And they could not be missing, Usigrai, the left-wing RAI union which is now a political entity that intervenes in everything that happens in Italy. Specialized in “normalizing” inconvenient journalists via press releases, for example those who allow themselves to disagree with the woke and feminist mainstream, he has quickly and quickly defended the three journalists from Tomorrow investigated in Perugia for unauthorized access to the computer system, together with a prosecutor and a financier. This is the consequence of a complaint from Defense Minister Guido Crosetto who wanted to see clearly after the newspaper had published the fees received by Crosetto himself when he was Leonardo's consultant.
The Usigrai, in a press release, says that journalists “are being investigated simply for doing their jobs. What they are accused of is not having written falsehoods or defaming someone, but having carried out journalistic investigations with real documents obtained from judicial sources, and for this they risk up to five years in prison”. And then the ending whereby the registration of the journalists is an: “attack on freedom of the press, a disconcerting fact in a Western country, even more disturbing if you consider that the investigation began after the complaint from the Minister of Defense” , as if a minister were not an Italian citizen, especially when he did not have institutional roles.
And finally the icing on the cake and that is: “Usigrai stands alongside the Fnsi for all the initiatives it wishes to undertake to protect colleagues and the constitutional right of citizens to be informed which appears increasingly compromised in our country”. So saints right away? And here we are already against the judiciary and in the political field. There is the usual reference to the Fnsi, the Italian press union, which often acts together with Usigrai with complaints to the Journalists' Association. Sandro Ruotolo, a fan of the Democratic Party and its head of information, immediately spoke up and declared:
“The news is true, they did their duty to inform.” It's a shame that Ruotolo forgets two things. That even if the news is true, reporting it can be defamatory (this is not the case), because in our legislation the truth is not, as they technically say, an excuse. In essence, if one calls a thief a thief, defamation is still there, it is one of the many Italian paradoxes but it is there and should not be respected only when it is convenient. It's surprising that a journalist of his experience doesn't know this. The second is that someone with the “right to inform” can do whatever they want and violate the law, for example, as per the accusation, illegally accessing the computer system to obtain news. Are we kidding? A minimal rule of legal civilization which is part of the obvious rules of the game which apparently Usigrai and Ruotolo do not consider relevant.
But let's get back to system used by Usigrai and Fnsi when they want to target someone. It works like this. A joint press release is issued that bounces on their websites and on some associations that come to lend support. Sometimes these are also internal components of the Journalists' Association itself, such as that of Equal Opportunities. Then the press release is fed into the social media meat grinder, and finally taken up again, as in this case, at an international level, this time by the Federation of European Journalists (EFJ) which raised its censorious finger, calling on the Italian government “to respect the rule of law and European legal standards for the protection of journalistic sources”, in a nutshell they threw it into politics. One final consideration. If the names of those allegedly in question did not include the entire centre-right with Matteo Renzi, what would have happened? Immediate street demonstrations with military occupation of Rai, through groups led by Elly Schlein herself in the Joan of Arc version. And instead the squares are desolately empty, no one is protesting and the game of cross-communications has started again. Long live democracy.
