Steam Deckthe home console Valvehas just arrived and is already making arguments because of Destiny 2. The very affectionate looter shooter community, in fact, expected the title to land on the new portable console that is driving the web crazy and, unfortunately, will be disappointed.
The game, in fact, is incompatible with this new console, in particular with its software. Despite this, there are ways to overcome this problem. Ways, of course, do it yourself. Bungiethe software house that developed the title, however, wanted to warn players from implementing them.
These are the words of the production company:
Destiny 2 is not supported for Steam Deck or any system using Proton unless Windows is installed and started. Players attempting to launch Destiny 2 on Steam Deack via SteamOS or Proton will not be able to enter the game and will return to their library after a short time. Players who try to circumvent the incompatibility of Destiny 2 will be punished with a ban.
In short, if you were dreaming of getting your hands on this title on a portable console, you should change programs and dedicate yourself, perhaps, to something else. Unless you decide to take the risk and are aware that you are probably spending money in vain that you could easily spend otherwise.
Watch out, though, because if you launch your game already started on PC on Steam Deck using the above methods, you risk having thrown away several hours of gameplay which in no case will be returned to you. So, play more, considering that the new born of Valve can count on a practically infinite stock of titles.
Too bad, therefore, because many players wanted to see with their own eyes how it would behave Steam Deck with a game so loved and appreciated, also in light of the recent release of the title’s latest expansion.
