A ceasefire attempt in Ukraine so that civilians can safely leave the country failed once again on Sunday morning. Further attacks halted the civilian withdrawal from Mariupol.
It is the second day in a row that the ceasefire agreement has not been respected. The Azov Battalion of the Ukrainian National Guard reported on Telegram and Twitter, according to Ukraine’s Pravda newspaper, that further bombings were carried out by the Russians. On the other hand, separatists accused Kiev forces of not respecting the ceasefire, according to the Interfax news agency.

According to Folha de S.Paulo, the resumption of the humanitarian corridor was announced earlier by the Mariupol City Council, with an expected start at noon local time (7am in BrasÃlia). It is worth remembering that the commitment to evacuate the day before was disregarded. The temporary ceasefire was expected to last until 9 pm in Ukraine (4 pm GMT).
This Saturday, the evacuation was also interrupted in Volnovakha, the second Ukrainian city where a similar action was planned and which is also surrounded by Vladimir Putin’s troops.
