A BBC employee was raped on the set of the cooking show Hungry For It in September 2021, but this has only become known now. About it writes The Sun, citing its source.
“Presumably, the attacker knocked on the door, broke into the room where the employee was, and abused her,” the source said, noting that the incident shocked the entire film crew. “None of us imagined that this could happen when we signed the contract.”
A member of the film crew said that after the incident in London, witnesses were forbidden to publicly make any statements and disseminate information about the incident.
The police said that nine days after the alleged attack, law enforcement agencies received an appeal. According to representatives of the department, an investigation is currently underway.
Meanwhile, the BBC assured that the victim is receiving all the necessary assistance. “BBC Studios has strong policies in place to ensure that any of our employees who may have been the victim of a crime receive all the support they need and that the matter is dealt with with the utmost seriousness and care,” a spokesperson for the broadcaster said.
