Ducati, Bagnaia renews until 2026
We'll see Francesco Bagnaia with the red overalls on board a Desmosedici for several more years. The two-time MotoGP world champion, in fact, has signed a contract renewal with Ducati until 2026. The announcement was made by the Borgo Panigale team itself.
The tweet
“We are thrilled to announce that Ducati and Bagnaia will team up for another two seasons! The two-time MotoGP world champion with Ducati will continue to ride the Factory bike in 2025 and 2026“, this is the team statement.
Bagnaia's words
“I am very happy to be able to continue racing with my dream team“, commented the Piedmontese. “Wearing these colors is an honor for me. It's fantastic and a source of pride. Together with Ducati, my team and all the guys at Ducati Corse we managed to do some incredible things and in these three more years that await us together we will continue to give our best to try to achieve as many successes. I'm very happy and ready to hit the track in a few days in Qatar for the first race of the year“. Then, on social media, he added: “Everything so far has been beautiful, but we're here to make it amazing together, over and over again“.
In 2024 Bagnaia will be chasing his third consecutive title, which since MotoGP was introduced has been a feat achieved only by Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez. Extending the discussion to the 500, Geoff Duke, John Surtees, Mike Hailwood, Giacomo Agostini, Kenny Roberts, Wayne Rainey and Mick Doohan are added. In short, “Pecco” would truly be among the greats. And now he has even more chances to extend his winning streak.
