The Bagnaia-Martin duel moves to Thailand
Francesco Bagnaia in Australia he increased the margin of Jorge Martin to 27 points, who saw a dream turn into a nightmare in one lap. The choice of the soft tire by the Pramac rider presented a very high price during the last round and the 2018 Moto3 champion could not help but fall from first to fifth place, losing further ground to Bagnaia in the standings.
This first end-of-season hat-trick will be concluded in Buriram in Thailand, Bagnaia is confident because in addition to the margin of advantage he will return to racing on a circuit where in the past the sensations have always been good. Below are his statements and those of his teammate Enea Bastianini in view of the Buriram weekend.
The words of Francesco Bagnaia
“I’m happy to be back in Thailand, where the warmth and passion of the audience is always incredible. After Japan, Indonesia and Australia, tracks where we struggled last year too, now it’s nice to be able to go back to racing on circuits where we have usually always been fast. Last year we faced the race in difficult conditions with rain and we were competitive, finishing third on the podium. This year too the weather will be uncertain, but I am confident that I can do well in any condition. I can’t wait to get on track in Buriram.”
The words of Enea Bastianini
“I’m happy to be racing again in Thailand. This will be my second time on the Chang International Circuit with MotoGP. Unlike 2022, I hope the weather conditions are better. Last year the race was very difficult due to the pouring rain, but I still managed to get a good sixth place. The objective this year will be to try to be fast straight away and obtain a good position in qualifying. In Australia I had struggled a bit in the first laps of the race, while in the second half I was faster. Together with my team we will work to be ready for both the Sprint Race and the GP on Sunday.”
