With the launch of the new MacBook Pro, Apple debuted a new phase of its own chips with the M1 Pro and M1 Max. Exclusive to the notebook line, the system promises a more efficient operating performance.
The technology giant has invested in recent years in its own chips so that all components of its products are exclusive to Apple. With that, the company wants to reinforce its market position and reduce costs with a completely in-house production.

According to Apple, the new chip offers up to 70% faster than the M1 version, allowing professional users to have a greater workflow in more demanding graphics. The chips feature unified memory as well as energy efficiency and 32GB or 64GB ram options.
In-house production also aims to help the company achieve its goal of being carbon neutral by 2030. “Apple plans to have zero climate impact across the entire business, which includes manufacturing supply chains and all product lifecycles . This also means that each chip created by Apple, from design to manufacturing, will be 100% carbon neutral”, explains the company, in a statement.
