Despite the unprecedented challenges posed by the stormy weather, airport employees demonstrated unparalleled commitment and professionalism in order to prevent service interruptions and their repercussions on passengers. Effective coordination between employees resulted in airport services only being interrupted for only 20 minutes, after which operations resumed completely smoothly.
Since the beginning of the weather situation, airport employees have worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers in integrated coordination with Etihad Airport Services and the airlines operating at the airport.
In addition, many government agencies provided their immediate support, including the National Guard Command, whose members escorted stranded passengers to safety and facilitated all other travel activities, from immigration procedures to emergency visas for transiting passengers and travel check-in offices to meet the increasing demand. Of passengers due to the diversion of several flights to Zayed International Airport, as well as customs employees who quickly opened all arrival offices and hand luggage handling offices to deal with the situation on the ground quickly and effectively, and traffic police personnel for their immediate response as the police were able to close the roads and redirect Traffic movement to secure areas within airport buildings.
In this regard, Abu Dhabi Airports honored airport employees who contributed to dealing with the repercussions of the exceptional weather conditions that the country witnessed during the period from April 16 to 17, in exchange for their efforts and effective contribution in reducing the impact of the storm on operational operations at Abu Dhabi airports. Despite the severity of the unprecedented storm that swept the UAE last month and the unstable weather conditions that resulted from it, through joint efforts with the relevant authorities in the country, we were able to confront it and reduce the damage resulting from it, which was evident at Zayed International Airport, where it was demonstrated The airport staff demonstrated high levels of professionalism and efficiency in dealing with the storm and reducing its impact on the airport’s operational operations, to ensure the continuity of operations effectively and smoothly, in addition to its active role in dealing with passengers and additional flights transferred to the airport.

Zayed International Airport received a total of 35 diverted flights from Dubai International Airport, and Al Ain Airport received 13 diverted flights. The team worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers.
