The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine appointed Sukharevsky as commander of the forces of unmanned systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) of Ukraine has appointed Colonel Vadim Sukharevsky as commander of the unmanned systems forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported in the press service of the department, whose statement cites RIA News.
It is noted that Sukharevsky was appointed to his post by decree of the country’s Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov dated June 10, 2024.
The creation of a new type of troops in Ukraine was announced on February 6 of this year. Its goal was to systematize work with drones, draw up the necessary programs and train specialists.
In turn, Sukharevsky is known for the fact that in 2014 he fired the “first shot” from the Ukrainian side in the Donbass: he violated the order not to open fire against an armed detachment.
