US President Joe Biden: “Gun violence against law enforcement is repugnant and must stop”
Fire and blood in one University campus in Virginia, United States: two officers were shot and killed during a shooting at the Bridgewater College in Virginia. The campus spokesman reports Logan Bogert at Cnn. “I can confirm that a campus police officer and a security officer died of gunshot wounds today,” she said. Bogert. There school issued an all-clear notice on its website at around 4:30 pm. Several students reported to the Washington Post that they heard gunshots near a classroom on campus and had to take cover on the spot for more than three hours.
One student, Kasey Truslow21, told al Washington Post I heard a gunshot outside the building window. “After the second shot, we ended up on the floor where we stayed for an hour,” she said. “My teacher barricaded the door with a large desk with computer monitors on it. We stood there. There was a back door that the students blocked,” she added.
The Virginia Governor Glen Youngkin tweeted: “I was briefed on the situation at Bridgewater College. The shooter is in custody and state and local police are on the scene.” The couple “were shot and killed on campus while protecting us,” college president David Bushman said on his website. “These agents were close friends, known to many of us as the ‘dynamic duo’. John was JJ’s best man at her wedding this year. They were loved by students, faculty and staff. I suffer for their families and loved ones, as I know we all do, “he added.
The Bridgewater Mayor Ted Flory posted a statement on the small town’s website. “Bridgewater is shocked by today’s senseless violence at Bridgewater College,” Flory said. “We are heartbroken by needless injuries and the loss of human life.”
Immediate comment on Twitter of the American President Joe Biden: “Another senseless shooting took the lives of two brave officers. Jill and I are praying for the families of the victims. Gun violence against law enforcement is repugnant and must stop.”
