Rafael Louzanpresident of the Galician Football Federation, has presented himself as a candidate for the presidency of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) after Pedro Rochapresident during a section of this year of the Federation, has not managed to stop the disqualification imposed on him by the Sports Administrative Court (TAD).
Louzan is disqualified from holding public officesince he prevaricated when he was president of the Pontevedra Provincial Council and the Popular Party in said province, showing in favor of providing financial aid – valued at 86,311 euros – to a football field for improvements that were practically already made.
José Manuel Rodríguez Uribespresident of the Higher Sports Council (C.S.D.) is in favor of denouncing Louzán to the TAD to prevent his possible presidency. The president of CENAFE (coaching school) Miguel Galán has stated that he rejects this candidacy as well.
According to The Country, A lawyer for Rafael Louzán contacted Galán this Thursday to reach an agreement about its qualified coaches and a UEFA license to practice in other countries.
On the other hand, in the event that Louzán is elected president, the CSD would instantly prevent him from exercising as such. Said Council has contacted FIFA so that it does not harm the Spanish government nor suppress Spain from the co-organization of the 2030 World Cup.
However, in case of poor organization in the RFEF government, FIFA could take action on the matteraccording to CSD sources.
In fact, the statutes of the RFEF establish that “Those disqualified from holding public office” cannot be part of their governing bodies.according to publication The Country. Louzán defends himself by claiming that the disqualification sentence is not final.
On April 4 of next year, UEFA elects its Executive Committee, where Louzán could present his candidacy, but The disqualification prohibits the Galician from representing Spanish football in both UEFA and FIFAso it would not pass the corresponding controls.
The CDS stated that the ideal candidate would be someone like Vicente del Bosque, to improve the reputation of the RFEF after the Rubiales casebut Louzán carries with him the majority of support as Pedro Rocha is out of the candidacy. The president of the Football Federation of the Valencian Community, Salvador Gomar was going to run as a presidential candidate to distance himself from support for the Galician.
