FSB Detains Man in Orenburg for Calls for Terrorist Attacks
In Orenburg, FSB officers detained a 49-year-old local resident for supporting a terrorist group banned in Russia. This was reported by “Orenburg Media”.
Investigators opened a criminal case against him under Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public calls to commit terrorist activity, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism”). The man was sent into custody.
According to the investigation, the accused published posts on his social networks in support of a terrorist group banned in Russia, calling its activities correct. However, it is unknown what group he was talking about. Investigators also noticed calls for violent and destructive actions in the defendant’s posts.
Earlier, the Second Eastern District Military Court in Novosibirsk announced a verdict against a resident of Omsk who created a terrorist organization and recruited people to participate in it.
