The number of deaths resulting from the floods that hit Rio Grande do Sul last month increased to 177 this Tuesday (18).
According to a report released by Civil Defense, the state still has 478 municipalities affected by heavy rains. Around 10,000 people remain in shelters.
The agency also confirmed that 37 people are missing.
Civil Defense issued this Monday (17) a new warning of intense rain and gusts of wind in the state.
This weekend, at least 19 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul suffered damage due to new floods.
In São Luiz Gonzaga, a microexplosion occurred, a phenomenon characterized by heavy rain in a short space of time. The incident left 400 people homeless, one injured and affected around 15,000 people.
