Weather|On Saturday evening, a rain zone is approaching from the south-west towards the southern and western parts of the country.
Midsummer according to the forecast, we will be able to spend Friday at least in the southern and western parts of the country in clear and dusty weather, Foreca’s meteorologist on duty Sara Salonen tells. Instead, it may rain in the north.
The rains are concentrated in the area stretching from North Karelia to Lapland.
“There may be some rain in the east, but now it seems that the rains will be concentrated in the northern part of Finland,” says Salonen.
Saturday will also be dusty in a large part of the country, although in the north there may be isolated showers and Cloudiness is quite abundant.
On Saturday evening, a rain zone is approaching from the south towards the southern and western parts of the country, but according to the forecast, it would not reach Finland until the night before Sunday.
From the beginning of the week temperatures have been quite warm throughout the country. Towards Midsummer, however, the weather gets colder.
It is still possible on Friday that the temperatures in the southernmost part of the country and in the southeast corner will rise to a couple of ten degrees, but in a large part of the country the weather will start to cool down.
Temperatures on Friday will generally be 15–20 degrees in the southern and central parts of the country, and 15 degrees on both sides in the north. In Lapland, temperatures can stay around ten degrees.
Midsummer bonfires regarding the situation looks promising, because there is currently no wildfire warning in effect anywhere in Finland. Since rain is expected throughout the week, it is likely that there will be no warnings during midsummer either, Salonen estimates.
“Therefore, it is quite possible and quite likely that those bonfires can be burned on Midsummer”, says Salonen.
He reminds that the wildfire warning should always be checked by locality before lighting a fire.
