Kazakhstan refused to participate in the conference on Ukraine because of its interests
Kazakhstan refused to participate in the conference on Ukraine in Switzerland based on its interests. The reason for Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s refusal to participate in the “peace formula” summit was given by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Aibek Smadiyarov, reports TASS
“We proceeded from our interests, from our schedule of international events,” he noted.
In early June, Smadiyarov stated that Astana would consider the possibility of participating in the summit on the “peace formula” of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on June 15-16. Then he said that the country’s participation would be considered taking into account the schedule of international events and the official position on this issue.
The conference on Ukraine was held in Switzerland on June 15 and 16. Russia was not invited to this event. The final document of the summit in Switzerland, dedicated to the Ukrainian issue, was supported by 80 of the 91 countries participating in the conference.
