The Israeli Armed Forces announced this Saturday that they rescued four hostages alive from two captives in Nuseirat, in the center of the Gaza Strip, in an action by special commando forces. Noa Argamani, 25, Almog Meir Jan, 21, Andrey Kozlov, 27, and Shlomi Ziv, 40, were kidnapped by the terrorist group Hamas in the October 7 terrorist attacks.
According to Israeli Army spokesman Daniel Hagari, in a post on the social network X (formerly Twitter), they are well and undergoing medical examinations for evaluation.
“This was a complex, high-risk mission, based on precision and intelligence, conducted during the day in two different buildings, right in the middle of Gaza. We were under fire inside the buildings and on the way,” he said.
Hamas captured 251 people in the attack on the electronic music festival on October 7, 2023. About half were released in a truce in November and another 116 remain with the terrorist group. Israel believes another 41 died.
According to the EFE agency, the last time Israel rescued hostages alive was in February, in Rafah, when it released two Argentine-Israeli men, as well as a soldier in the north of the Strip in November.
