Alphabet informed this Wednesday, 5th, that Anat Ashkenazi will become chief financial officer (CFO) of the parent company and its Google unit, replacing Ruth Porat. After the announcement, Alphabet shares rose 0.93% in New York, at 11:50 am (Brasília time).
The change takes effect on July 31. Porat, as the company said, is shifting her focus to managing the company’s “other bets” portfolio with the new title of president and chief investment officer.
Ashkenazi joins the company from pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly, where she has worked in various roles since 2001, most recently as executive vice president and CFO. She will be based in the Bay Area and report to Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
Alphabet has been looking for a new CFO for almost a year. The company disclosed the plan to transfer Porat to his new role in July 2023. Source: Dow Jones Newswires
