The passenger’s face appears blurred, but the newspaper indicates that he is an embassy employee.
“In a context of escalating violence in the country, the diplomat ‘jokes,'” says a comment that accompanies the video.
“We are aware of this incident and have taken appropriate action,” a British Foreign Office spokesperson told AFP when asked about this incident.
According to the ministry’s website, Benjamin was ambassador to Mexico between 2021 and 2024. The diplomat’s LinkedIn profile indicates that he left the position in May.
