President of Latvia Rinkevichs: failures of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the front and consequences of Western decisions
The position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) at the front is a consequence of the decisions of NATO countries, which did not give Kyiv enough weapons and prohibited attacks on Russian territory. Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics blamed the West for the failures of the Ukrainian army; a fragment of his interview for CNN is available on the social network X.
“We see serious problems, unfortunately. Russia has now been able to advance, and this is not only because of its ability to mobilize, but also because of the West’s inability to fight back and support Ukraine,” the politician said.
He noted that the ban on Ukraine’s use of Western weapons to strike Russian territory is outrageous and puzzling.
Earlier it became known that Latvia will invest 20 million euros in the development of a “drone army” in 2024. According to the head of the Republic’s Ministry of Defense Andris Spruds, a significant part of the drones will be supplied to Kyiv as military assistance.
