Rada Deputy Melnychuk: the Cabinet of Ministers removed cannabis from the list of prohibited substances
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine removed cannabis from the list of prohibited substances in the country. About it reported government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk.
“Cannabis, cannabis resin, extracts and tinctures of cannabis are excluded from the list of especially dangerous drugs, the circulation of which is prohibited, and tetrahydrocannabinol is excluded from the list of dangerous psychotropic substances, the circulation of which is prohibited,” Melnichuk cites the Cabinet resolution.
It is noted that the changes come into force on August 16, 2024. In addition, it is stated that the maximum permissible concentration of a narcotic substance in dried hemp straw for industrial purposes does not exceed 0.3 percent.
A proposal to adopt a law legalizing medical cannabis was made by former Prime Minister of Ukraine, leader of the Batkivshchyna faction, Yulia Tymoshenko. She noted that the use of cannabis-based medicinal products has been permitted in the country for a long time and does not require additional measures.
