“Be honest, do you still call it Twitter or X?” The question posed on social media by the parody profile of Elon Musk it obtained over 47 million views in two days and was taken terribly seriously by users who got involved in a real debate in which, without a doubt, nostalgia for the bird won. So much so that in the survey posted as a comment by user PresenterNoah to “help Elon”, 94.8% still choose the old name against 5.2% who say they call him X.
“I’ll call it Twitter forever”many write in the comments inviting Musk (did they notice that it was the fake one?) to “bring home” the old symbol, while there are those like the influencer MrBeast (aka Jimmy Donaldson, American YouTuber with the highest number of followers in the world) highlights that the problem is not so much the name of the social network that went from Twitter to X but what to call a tweet.
“If I told someone I just ‘posted’ something, they would have no idea whether it was YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, etc. So you’re forced to still say you tweeted something, which leads a lot of people to still call it Twitter,” he says, taking behind an avalanche of similar comments. However, the Elon Musk – parody promptly replies to the observation: “It should be ‘I posted something on X’, Twitter is dead,” he writes, putting a little heart next to the peremptory statement.
But to bring back the age-old dispute that has become semi-serious in which even the president of the Argentine Chamber Martin Menem (who voted on Twitter) took part in the age-old dispute with irony, the Tiktoker JewelyBlue resolves it with a ‘sweet’ crasis voting Twix.
