Former Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp said that he intends to withdraw into a private life after his departure from the club competing in the English Premier League, and he also denied any plans to quickly return to training.
In a long speech, Klopp bid farewell to his team’s fans at Anfield, after Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over its guest, Wolverhampton Wanderers, in the final round of the Premier League season.
He participated with the audience in a song for the next coach, Arne Slot, who will certainly have a task before him that is not insignificant.
Klopp explained that he is happy, while leaving the club in a good position after winning many titles with him.
In his first press conference in Liverpool, Klopp defined himself as an “ordinary person.”
In his last press conference after the match, Klopp told reporters: “But look, the house is not burning after my departure, and this gives me a nice feeling,” confirming that he will return to Anfield as a fan one day, and the German coach will pack his bags after a few emotional weeks in the coastal city.
Klopp announced last January that he would leave at the end of the season, after eight years at the helm of the club’s technical staff, due to a decline in his energy.
Klopp added: “A private life must be planned, and I have not made any plans yet because of my presence here. Perhaps she (Sandrock, his wife) will tell me first where we will go, but I will happily follow her.”
Klopp added: “I don’t know exactly why people don’t believe that I won’t return to training, but I understand that, because it seems like an addiction and because everyone comes back and continues to work after they reach 70 years old.”
Klopp indicated that he might consider returning to training after a year.
