Abu Dhabi (Etihad)
The Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defense announced the implementation of Operation “Birds of Goodness,” the 47th airdrop of humanitarian and relief aid into the northern Gaza Strip.
The drop operation included the participation of two C17 aircraft belonging to the United Arab Emirates Air Force, and two C295 aircraft belonging to the Air Force of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt.
The drops were carried out over the isolated and inaccessible areas in the northern Gaza Strip via the four planes that carried 82 tons of food and relief aid, bringing the total aid dropped since the launch of Operation “Birds of Goodness” to 3,180 tons of food and relief aid.
Thus, the volume of relief aid sent by the UAE to the northern Gaza Strip by land through the Kerem Abu Salem crossing and by air through Operation Birds of Khair exceeds approximately 3,550 tons of aid.
Operation “Birds of Goodness” comes within the framework of Operation “The Gallant Knight 3” to support the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
To date, the UAE has delivered more than 31,000 tons of urgent humanitarian supplies, including food, relief, and medical supplies, which were sent via 256 flights, 46 airdrops, 1,231 trucks, and six ships.
Furthermore, the UAE has launched a number of other sustainable relief projects to provide food and water to the people of Gaza. These efforts include establishing five automated bakeries to meet the needs of 72,000 people, providing flour to eight existing bakeries to meet the needs of 17,140 people, and establishing six water desalination plants “operating with a total capacity of 1.2 million gallons of water” benefiting up to 600,000 people daily.
