German Chancellor Olaf Scholz heads to China on Saturday for a three-day visit, where he will meet – among others – President Xi Jinping. The advisor will first visit the cities of Chongqing and Shanghai, then arrive in Beijing on Tuesday, to hold his political talks.
During the visit, the advisor is accompanied by about ten senior company managers, and Agriculture Minister Cem Ozdemir, Transport Minister Volker Vissing, and Environment Minister Steffe Lemke will also be present with him in Beijing.
This is the Chancellor's second visit to China since he took office in December 2021.
His first visit, which took place in November 2022, was only a one-day trip due to the ongoing Corona pandemic. This time, the visit will last three days, which is the longest visit that Schulz has spent so far to one country.
