Dhe entrepreneur Karlie Kloss, who is known as a model, has announced a new edition of “Life” magazine, known for its photographs. “Josh and I are honored to carry on the legacy of 'Life,'” Kloss wrote on Instagram on Thursday, referring to her husband, investor Joshua Kushner. Bedford Media, of which Kloss is chairman, announced the return of “Life” as an online and print edition.
The new edition is part of an agreement with publisher Dotdash Meredith, said Bedford Media. “Life” should therefore appear regularly again in the future. The financial details of the deal were not initially disclosed. A date for the restart was also not mentioned.
“Life” was founded in the USA in 1883 and was sold and revised in 1936. The magazine has long been a flagship for photojournalism, publishing images from talents such as Robert Capa, Alfred Eisenstaedt and Margaret Bourke-White. From film stars to theaters of war, the magazine covered contemporary history for decades.
After years of decline, the weekly publication became a monthly magazine over time, discontinuing print in the 2000s. Since then, only the online archive has remained.
