He warned that in the coming days a number of regions of the Central Federal District are expecting a very serious set of adverse weather events.
“In the Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, Oryol, Lipetsk, Tambov, Tula, and Ryazan regions on November 26, during the day there will be heavy snow, sleet, snow accumulation, ice, sleet, wind up to 15–20 m/s,” the meteorologist said.
He added that on the 27th, similar weather will come to the Smolensk, Moscow, Tver, Yaroslavl and Kostroma regions.
It is noted that in Sochi on November 26 and on the night of November 27 there will be heavy rain, showers with thunderstorms and hail are possible. Wind gusts will reach 22–27 m/s.
“Water levels are expected to rise on the rivers, the risk of mudflows will increase, and the sea state will be up to 6 points. In addition, there is a danger of tornadoes forming over the sea,” Vilfand said.
Earlier, on November 25, Vilfand warned of abnormal frosts in a number of regions of Russia. In the regions of the Northwestern Federal District, frosts of -25…-19 degrees are expected in the coming days. Anomalous cooling will also come to the Tver, Yaroslavl regions, Primorsky, Khabarovsk territories and Sakhalin.
Prior to this, on November 24, an emergency warning was announced in the Sakhalin region due to heavy snowfall and wind.
