Pier Silvio Berlusconi, Marina Berlusconi and Giorgia Meloni
Meloni’s war on Mediaset
Who had put forward simplistic and reductive hypotheses about the off-air broadcasts from Strip the News it served. In recent days there has been an attempt to endorse a banal explanation of what happened, thinking that the Italian people are a people who drink everything. It’s incredible how Maurizio Gasparri still tries to pass off Meloni as a poor naive and naive woman, defying her anger: “The prime minister may be angry about what happened, but she can’t think that there is a conspiracy by Marina Berlusconi and Antonio Ricci against she”. Yeah, for sure.
But fortunately, as Prezzolini said, there are also the “apoti”, that is, those who didn’t buy it. Personally I am among them and I have written it from day one. To think that Antonio Ricci had this immense power to convey what he liked best just to “punish” Giambruno of the fact that on the weekly Who had been “glorified” – as he himself said – it was and is one out of this world hypothesis and which arouses tenderness due to its naivety.
Especially when the Head of Government is involved. Yet many, perhaps the majority, believed it. Ricci, like Alexander the Great, who roamed around Padania imposing his law to the detriment of Pier Silvio, CEO, and Marina Berlusconi. Naturally the prime minister, who comes from the ranks and is one of the few people who knows how to do politics in Italy at a high level, never bought this little story and understood everything immediately. The fact that the two clips had been shot months ago and then put in the drawer after a “fruitful summer fishing” – as the founder of Strip– it must have sounded like some kind of blackmail to her. If you behave well they will stay there but if you are naughty, so to speak, you will pay the consequences.
At that point Meloni tried to mediate with the leaders by bringing in Tajani but the response was that Ricci “is an independent Republic”.
And many have fallen for it.
The reality is that for months a “low frequency” game made up of moves and countermoves has been played between FdI and Mediaset. Meloni suddenly brought out a law on banking extra profits to hit Mediolanum, the Berlusconi family bank. Then the measure was scaled back and withdrawn. Afterwards there was the discount on Rai license fee which went from 90 euros to 70, once again causing damage to Mediaset on the advertising market. Furthermore, there are tensions over measures regarding Justice – a theme that has always been dear to Arcore – and Energy.
All in a context of very difficult relations of a past that does not pass between the Knight and the prime minister.
Just think of what happened on the nomination of the President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa with the famous pizzini written live by B. against Meloni who had also commented: “one point is missing. I am not blackmailable.” That the hypothesis of a Riccci leader having nothing to do with it was sensationally supported by the first reactions of the Brothers of Italy.
Already two days ago Chigi made it known that the appointment of Giuliano Amato, the man who “stole” money from Italians’ bank accounts, as head of the task force on Artificial Intelligence at the tender age of 85 (but the pension no?) is not welcome. It was proposed by Alberto Barachini, undersecretary with responsibility for publishing and a Mediaset man who had to apologize yesterday. In the middle there is the poor minister Tajani who plays the evangelical role of the Cyrenean who has been soaked with the cross to take to Golgotha and takes slaps and spit from everyone.
The danger of “Halloween rascals”
The Berlusconi brothers, who are now in charge in Arcore and above all in Cologno Monzese, have long understood that Tajani has passed bag and baggage to Meloni and no longer consider him their man. And as if that wasn’t enough, every now and then the rumor goes around that there are also other films in Ricci’s drawers and the rascals are just waiting for the right opportunity to come out, real Halloween zombies.
