The president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, announced at the end of March a new aid for young people renting 360 euros, which is part of the ‘We Promote Youth’ plan. The purpose of this subsidy is to facilitate access to a first home or alleviate rental costs in the event that one already lives in a rented apartment. We explain what are the requirements to access it and how you can request it.
If the rent for your home is a maximum of 600 euros per month, you can request a monthly aid of 360 euros. In the event that you have rented a room, its maximum price must be 300 euros per month so that you can apply for the subsidy of 180 euros per month.
The application submission period opened on April 1, 2023 and will be available until March 1, 2025. This aid will be granted retroactively from January 2022. Once the aid application has been approved, and after justifying the rental payments for the corresponding year, the subsidy awarded will be credited to the account.
Requirements to access the rental aid of 360 euros
-Be under 35 years old.
-Have a housing or room rental contract.
-That this room or home is your habitual and permanent residence, so you must be registered there.
-Have an income of less than 25,200 euros per year.
-In addition to taking into account that the maximum rental of the house must be 600 euros and 180 in the case of a room.
Compatibility with the Youth Rental Bonus
This aid can be made compatible with the Youth Rental Bonus aid. In this case, the regional subsidy will be up to 40% of the difference between the monthly rent and the amount of 250 euros per month corresponding to the Youth Rental Bonus granted by the national government. For example, if you receive these two aids for renting a house of 600 euros per month, the amount of the regional subsidy would remain at 140 euros per month. If we add these to the 250 of the national aid, you could have about 390 euros to cover the monthly rental costs of your home.
And what happens if I share a flat?
In the event that several people appear as tenants in the contract, the amount of the aid will be determined by dividing the amount by the total number of beneficiaries. So if you share a house with your partner, and you are both listed as tenants, you will receive 180 euros of help.
How to apply for help
To request this youth rental aid of 360 euros, you must access the electronic headquarters of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia and look for procedure 4011: Help for the payment of rent or transfer price for use of the home or habitual and permanent room (PEAV 2022/25).
This subsidy can be requested by electronic DNI, Digital Certificate or Cl@ve. In addition, you will also need to have the AutoFirma program installed.
When starting the process, the first thing you must do is indicate whether you have a signed rental or assignment of use of the home or room contract, which you must prove within two months of notification of the resolution.
You will also have to fill in a form on the data of the house such as the cadastral reference, the municipality in which it is located, the address and if it is a house or a room, as well as if you share it with other people.
You must indicate the start date of the contract and the monthly assignment rent in addition to the date on which you request the aid and until when you want to receive it. You can receive the payment of the aid by transfer, direct debit or only in cash.
In the event that you do not have a rental contract at the time of requesting the aid, the procedure will be much shorter, having to provide less information. Once all the steps are completed, you must click on ‘submit’.
