A commuter had just stepped off his subway train in Cambridge, Massachusetts, when a soundproof ceiling panel fell inches from him, kicking up a great cloud of dust and rubble. The commuter was miraculously unharmed, as were the other people who were in the trajectory of the ceiling block. The MBTA – Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority – wrote on Twitter that “engineers inspected the panels and removed those that were an immediate safety concern”. Each panel weighs over two kilos.
