For Boccia “it is not wise to undermine the stability of the local authorities in which we govern together”
Francesco Boccia, coordinator of the local authorities of the Democratic Party, explains the position of the Dems in the relationship with the M5S, which has become very complicated after the distrust of the Draghi government. If on the national level it was made official on the break, according to Boccia “It is not wise to undermine the agreements signed on the territories”.
“The line is dictated by the secretary and he said that the fracture is irreversible”, he says in an interview with Repubblica, admitting however a bit of regret (“For three years we have built a common path”). However, all is not lost: “In many territories we govern together, the M5S participates in a lot of juntas led by the Democratic Party. From Naples to Bologna, but also Lazio and Puglia. I don’t think it wise to undermine its stability ”.
In addition to confirming the candidacy of Nicola ZingarettiBoccia outlines a campaign such as “the Democratic Party will ask for a mass vote that is profoundly alternative to that for Giorgia Meloni. The secretary is right when he says that Italy is at a crossroads: either here or there. And the Italians will be called upon to choose between sovereign and progressives, between who he is for Europe and against Putin and who is against Europe and in favor of the Russian dictator, a personal friend of Salvini and Berlusconi ”.
