VKontakte will hold an independent film festival in 20 Russian cities
Movies will be shown to Russian residents en masse — the VKontakte social network will hold closed screenings of independent films in 20 cities across the country. This was reported in a press release of the organization received by the editors of “Lenta.ru”.
As part of the Cinema in Cinema festival, participants will have access to recently released films that have been positively noted by critics and viewers, but which have not been among the most promoted. So, the poster includes “Superheroes” directed by Paolo Genovese, “Mainstream” by Gia Coppola, “Diabolik” by Marco and Antonio Manetti, as well as “Maigre and the Mystery Girl” by Patrice Leconte.
It is known that the shows will be held every weekend, starting from July 9, and will cover 20 cities, including Vladivostok, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Perm, Moscow, Ufa and others.
“The festival will remind the audience that going to the cinema is always a special occasion and an unforgettable ritual. We want to support film distributors and show the audience high-quality independent films. Our festival is an opportunity to have a good time with your loved ones and re-experience that indescribable cinema atmosphere that many have forgotten during the pandemic,” said Alexander Volodin, Director of Marketing and Development of New Initiatives at VKontakte.
It is noted that tickets for private screenings can be won in a special platform mini-application: to participate, it is enough to send an application: select the desired city and session and publish the generated story on your page. Winners are randomly selected and will receive notifications of their winnings a few days before the session.
