In the absence of new games or official remasters, the community does not hesitate to pay tribute to survival-horror.
Silent Hill 2 is one of those games that will always have a reserved place in the hearts of fans of the genre survival-horror. At the moment, Konami does not intend to take advantage of its iconic franchise with remasters or new deliveries, and that is why the community pays tribute to the title with mods that improve the original graphics or this fan remake developed in Unreal Engine 5.
As you can see in the video that heads this news, the user Silent has set to work to develop a remake that aims to renew the graphics of Silent Hill 2 keeping the essence of the title. The creator shares his feat in a lengthy video in which he also touches on concepts like character modeling, using source material, and other aspects of the process.
This leaves us with a first demonstration in which we see one of the most recognizable parts of the experience: the moment in which James Sunderland comes out of the bathroom and enters the streets of Silent Hill. Although this project can excite any fan of the Konami franchise, it should be noted that the creator of the remake is using the idea to practice developing video games and, therefore, continues it in his spare time.
As for the official games, we know that Konami continues to rebrand Silent Hill and, while it hasn’t expressed its intention to continue the saga, it’s a big enough move to feed the rumors of the network. After all, the director of the Silent Hill movie is sure that the Japanese company will end up relaunching the franchise.
