Lionel Messi won his seventh Ballon d’Or last night, joining those achieved in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2019. He did so with a margin of 33 points over Robert Lewandowski and 153 over Jorge Luiz Frelho “Jorginho”, who entered for the first time on the podium.
The Argentine striker won the award for his work at FC Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain in recent months, but especially for his role in the achievement of the Copa América by the Albiceleste team. The collective and individual merits, together with his unquestionable talent and performance at 34, allowed him to lead a top ten that was as follows:
