The Federal National Council will conclude its third ordinary session of the seventeenth legislative term, with its sixteenth session chaired by His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Council, tomorrow, Wednesday, at Zayed Hall at the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, during which it will discuss a draft federal law on cooperatives, and a draft federal law on regulating commercial agencies. According to the session’s agenda, the Council reviews the reports on the activities of the office and the standing committees, during the third round of the seventeenth legislative term, which are: the Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee and Appeals, the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee, the Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee, and the Technical, Energy and Wealth Affairs Committee The Committee on Education, Culture, Youth, Sports, and Media Affairs, the Health and Environmental Affairs Committee, the Social Affairs, Labor, Population and Human Resources Committee, the Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Public Utilities Committee, the Complaints Committee, and the Committee Heads Committee. The Council is also briefed on the activity report of the General Secretariat.
The Council concludes its session by reciting the Federal Decree to adjourn the third ordinary session of the seventeenth legislative term of the Federal National Council.
Discussing the sustainability of electricity services
The Technical, Energy and Mineral Resources Committee of the Federal National Council, headed by Dr. Nidal Muhammad Al Tunaiji, Chairperson of the Committee, continued to discuss, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Dubai, the topic of “government policy regarding the sustainability of electricity and water services.” During the meeting, the committee reviewed the results of its meetings with the relevant authorities, and the views and observations of the participants in the virtual seminar organized by the committee recently, which dealt with the axes of the efforts of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure regarding the development of energy and water services, and coordination and cooperation efforts between the relevant government and local sectors to ensure Sustainability of electricity and water services, and the committee decided to prepare its report on the subject in preparation for submission to the Council.
