Industry, Istat: in the quarter February-April 2022, the overall index grew by 6.6% compared to the previous quarter
To April the cyclical growth of the industry turnoverwhich marks a record: with + 2.7% on March, the seasonally adjusted index touches the highest level since the beginning of time series in January 2000observes Istat.
Corrected for calendar effects, the total turnover it grows in trend terms by 22.0%, with increases of 21.8% on the domestic market and of 22.5% on the foreign market. THE working days there were 19 against 21 in April 2021.
“It continues in April the cyclical growth in turnover industry, with the seasonally adjusted index reaching the highest level since the beginning of the historical series, ie January 2000. The dynamics are, however, less accentuated considering the indicator in terms of volume, available for the manufacturing sector “, comments Istat.
“In trend terms, net of calendar effects, there is a marked increase in the value of turnover both in overall terms and with reference to the main groupings of industries, with particularly significant increases for the energy sector. Also in this case, the growth in volume is much more contained “, continues the Institute.
In the quarter February-April 2022, the overall index grew by 6.6% compared to the previous quarter, up 6.4% on the domestic market and 7.0% on the foreign market. With reference to the main groupings of industries, in April the seasonally adjusted indices of the turnover recorded cyclical increases for energy equal to an increase of 6.0%, capital goods up by 3.5%, consumer goods (+2 , 1%) and intermediate goods (+ 2.0%).
As for the correct indices for the calendar effects referring to the main groupings of industries, there are very marked tendential increases for energy (+ 64.4%), intermediate goods (+ 30.3%) and consumer goods (+ 21.9%); the increase for capital goods was more contained (+ 4.0%). All sectors of economic activity show growth in trend terms, with the exception of means of transport.
