Leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, Evgeniy Tishkovets, warned that a dusty plume from Africa will reach the Volga region on Friday, April 26, and on Saturday, April 27, will reach the Southern and Middle Urals. There it will precipitate along with “rusty” rain.
In his Telegram channel on Thursday, April 25, the specialist noted that the main wind flows that formed in the front part of the high-altitude cyclone are directed from the southwest to the northeast from the Sahara Desert in Libya and Egypt. Dust and sand particles raised by the wind, picked up by atmospheric currents, were carried into the Black Sea, and after almost a day they reached the Crimea, Kherson, Zaporozhye regions, and after 27 hours – the Belgorod region, notes IA “Regnum”.
After this, according to the forecaster, the dust plume began to spread across the Black Earth Region and Central Russia, on Friday it will reach the Volga region, and on Saturday – to the Urals. Sandstorms began in certain areas of the Rostov region, Krasnodar region, Stavropol region, Kalmykia, writes NSN.
The forecaster warned that people with respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases and allergies are at particular risk on such days. They should spend less time outdoors and wear a mask, reports 360.ru.
Also on April 25, the head of the Meteo forecasting center, Alexander Shuvalov, said that African sand, which colored the sky in Greece red and yellow and reached Crimea, had already reached Moscow. The expert noted that the situation will return to normal by the end of the week, since air flows in the region will change by the May holidays, the site reports aif.ru.
On Friday, April 26, in Moscow it will be cloudy with clearings, short-term rain is expected, thunderstorms are expected in places, the thermometer will show up to +22 degrees. During the day, south winds are expected at a speed of 6–11 m/s, with wind gusts of up to 15 m/s possible in some places.
