Today, Thursday, the Russian presidency commented on the United States’ delivery of long-range missiles to Ukraine as part of the new military aid package approved by Washington.
The Kremlin announced that the delivery of American Atakms missiles to Kiev would not change anything in the current crisis, the day after Washington revealed that it was supplying its ally with these long-range weapons.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, during a meeting with journalists, “The United States is directly involved in this conflict and has taken a course aimed at extending the range of weapons systems.”
The Russian presidential spokesman added that the delivery of these weapons “will not change the outcome of the special military operation” in Ukraine.
Yesterday, Wednesday, the US State Department announced that the United States had sent ATACMS missiles to Ukraine “at the direct request of President” Joe Biden.
These missiles have a longer range, perhaps up to 300 kilometers, in accordance with a demand that Kiev has been repeating for a long time, so that it can direct strikes targeting Russian supply chains, warehouses, and military headquarters, away from the lines of engagement.
