The Kremlin does not yet have information about rewarding the crew members of the Il-76 military transport aircraft shot down by Ukrainian troops. This was announced by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, who was quoted by RIA News.
This is how the Kremlin representative answered the question about whether there had been any proposals from the Ministry of Defense to nominate military personnel for awards.
The Il-76 plane crashed on January 24. On board, in addition to six crew members, there were 65 captured soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). and three accompanying persons. The plane was shot down by Ukrainian troops.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the results of the examination in the case of the Il-76 crash in the Belgorod region. According to him, the aircraft was shot down by the American Patriot system. At the same time, Putin admitted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces could have shot down the plane through negligence.
