General strike of December 16 and the new discussion table with the government
While the usual ballet of figures on the strike of 16 December called by Cgil and Uil in Piazza del Popolo in Rome: for acronyms in the square, according to the first data collected by the confederations, a resounding success with an average membership that touched the 85% threshold in many realities and sectors, a flop announced for Confindustria which registered stakes below 5%, it is time to take stock and considerations. Which are not strictly about numbers, but rather the agenda that belongs to Triple: from now to the end of the year the calendar is full of appointments with the Mise and the government.
But before getting into the merits of the game, of the union and political knots on the table, it will be necessary to deal with the human side. The historic alliance between the CGIL from Maurizio Landini, the Uil from Pierpaolo Bombardieri and the Cisl from Luigi Sbarra, after a long time, on the occasion ofl December 16, has partially broken. Despite the distancing of all three fronts on a possible trade union divorce in progress (we wrote about it here), the Cisl by Luigi Sbarra did not take to the streets with Cgil and Uil and this is a fact.
“While appreciating the effort and commitment of the Premier Draghi and of its executive, the maneuver is unsatisfactory, in particular on the front of the tax authorities, pensions, schools, industrial policies and the fight against relocations, the fight against job insecurity especially of young people and women, non self-sufficiency “, they complained Cgil and Uil.
While for the Cisl from Luigi Bar the ongoing negotiation on taxman with the executive Dragons it was not so bad, considering that “85% of the relief will be allocated to income brackets under 50,000 euros for employees and retirees. Of these, almost 50% will concern incomes of up to 28 thousand euros. The intervention of the tax rates added to the 1.5 billion for the one-off 0.8% cut in income contributions up to 35 thousand euros produces greater results than the cut in the tax wedge of the Conte 2 government, which was welcomed positively by all the unions ” .
In short, the wound cannot yet be said to be contained or closed. Reconnecting human relationships will be the next step to take, as well as attempting a dialogue on matters already conflictual.
(Dialogue between parties and trade unions follows …)
