Chivas’ current form does not seem to be good at all. In the Liga MX, the team from La Rebaño has only been able to beat second or third-tier teams; that is, clubs that do not aspire to win the local tournament, while in the Leagues Cup, this Sunday, the team from Verde Valle was eliminated by LA Galaxy. And beyond the fact that Guadalajara’s coach, Fernando Gago, stated that it is not a failure, seeing the depth and form on the field, as well as the instance in which they were eliminated, the reality is that the team from Guadalajara failed in every sense of the word.
Gago is not satisfied with the performance of the majority of his squad. The reality is that there are several players who on the field leave more doubts than certainties and others who definitely do not exist for the coach. One of them is Antonio Briseño, who despite Orozco Chiquete’s injury, has added the pitiful figure of 7 minutes in six games played in the semester.
In the four rounds of Liga MX, the Mexican has not played a single minute on the field, and in the Leagues Cup, a tournament to which the team arrived with the injury of ‘Chiquete’, Briseño was not the immediate replacement expected as expected. In the first duel, the starter was Leo Sepúlveda, while last Sunday Luis Olivas was the starter. Antonio only had activity against San Jose where he came on as a substitute at 93′ and the rest has been on the bench. Evaluating his situation, today the defender is the fifth option for Guadalajara’s defense.
