Scrat the squirrel that sparked a lawsuit against Disney
Scrat made his debut in the 2002 original film “Ice Age,” a film that follows various creatures on a journey to reunite a human baby with his family. With the premiere of the sixth installment, several fans noticed that the squirrel was not part of the cast, which led to the knowledge that a lawsuit prevented his appearance.
After a 20-year legal battle, Ivy ‘Supersonic’ shared on January 28, 2022 that she had finally won the fight she started against Blue Sky Studios, a subsidiary company of Walt Disney Studios and that the court had determined that Scrat was his authorship.
