Paulo Protásio participated in an event promoted by Poder360 about the move of the Portuguese royal family to Brazil
Lawyer Paulo Protásio, coordinator of the celebrations of the Bicentennial of Independence by the Government of Rio de Janeiro and president of Cisbra (Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Brazil), said that Brazil and Portugal need to revisit history and clean it up to build a future of opportunity for both nations.
The statement was made in the webinar “Forum 200 years of Independence with integration: the change of the royal family”, held this Wednesday (13.Jul.2022). The event was promoted by Power 360 in partnership with the fiber (Forum of Integration Brazil Europe) and support from the PDI (Brazilian Institute of Education, Development and Research) and the ConJur (Journal Adviser Magazine).
During the event, the lawyer mentioned the role of the Portuguese language, spoken in both countries, as strategic for commercial transactions, the importance of market relations practiced by both nations and Brazil’s search for a new status in the world.
“The OECD [Organização para a Cooperação e Desenvolvimento Econômico] it is a possible platform for Brazil to share new initiatives. Of course, this has a meaning that will make the necessary difference to a 21st century language.”said Protasio.
They participated in the virtual seminar, mediated by journalist Anna Rangel, deputy executive director of the digital newspaper Power 360:

It is the 2nd seminar of a cycle of debates commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Independence of Brazil. The objective is to understand the context of the Portuguese royal family’s move to the country, in 1808, and to reflect on the changes in the axis of power in the current world.
At the 1st event, the speakers discussed the signing of the Royal Charter for the Opening of Brazilian Ports to Friendly Nations, on January 28, 1808, and how the act was decisive for the process that made Brazil independent from Portugal.
