The existence of punk in an interview with Moslenta was denied by the artist, exhibition organizer, anthropologist, punk Misha Buster.
“In general, what is called “punk” is a social reaction to what is happening around, an attempt to create some kind of vibration, conflict and an alternative to what the reaction happened to. So what is punk then? Yes, as such, there is none. Even as a style,” Buster said.
According to the interlocutor of Moslenta, representatives of the popular subculture in the 80-90s did not consider themselves as such. It was the journalists who made the punks “punks”, he noted and stated that they were presented as absolute moral freaks and asocial elements. In the USSR, such characters have been constant heroes of the magazine “Crocodile” since the time of the NEP.
Earlier, the leader of the Bakhyt-Kompot group called the “punk” places in Moscow.
