It was by now the worst-kept secret in the paddock, but now it’s official: Jack Miller will race with the Pramac team in 2025. The Australian was the last of the riders to be announced for next season and now, with the Pramac piece in place, the MotoGP starting grid for next year is complete.
Miller will join Miguel Oliveira, returning to Paolo Campinoti’s team after his experience from 2018 to 2020. However, in his return to Pramac, the Australian will find a decidedly different project, which he has decided to embrace once 2024 with KTM is over. Jack will in fact find a Yamaha waiting for him, because the Pramac team has tied itself to the Iwata manufacturer for next year, thus leaving Ducati with which he races until the end of this year.
For Yamaha, it will be essential to have two experienced riders, to develop a bike that will allow the team to return to the top. The difficulties of the M1 are evident, but the completely new project will represent a boost, especially since Yamaha will provide both Miller and Oliveira with a bike with full factory support.
Lin Jarvis himself said, welcoming Miller: “We are delighted to announce that Jack is joining the Prima Pramac Racing line-up and we extend a warm welcome to the Yamaha MotoGP group. With 10 years of experience in the MotoGP class with three different manufacturers, Jack will be a valuable asset to Yamaha. His speed, knowledge, work ethic and team spirit will be invaluable as we continue to improve the performance of the M1 in 2025 and beyond. Yamaha will support him in every way possible.”
Paolo Campinoti, CEO of Pramac and Team Principal of Prima Pramac Racing, who knows Miller from his old experience a few years ago, echoes his sentiments: “It is a pleasure to welcome Jack back to the team. We have supported his growth in MotoGP and now it is great to start this new collaboration with Yamaha, counting on the support of a rider we know well. We wish Jack the best for the end of the season and we are happy to welcome him back home in 2025”.
Gino Borsoi, Team Manager of Prima Pramac Racing, says: “I will have the pleasure of working with Jack Miller in 2025. He has left great memories in the team and I am sure that we will be able to create new ones together. His great experience in MotoGP is certainly important to develop the new project we will work on with Yamaha.”
