Media|The organizational reform can be seen as small changes in the application’s menus and the condensation of the article page.
Helsinki A number of new front-office staff have been appointed to the editorial office of Sanomat, who will start their work on Monday, May 13. Several reporters, photographers and visual journalists have also moved to new editorial teams as of Monday.
The background is the change negotiations held by HS in March–April, the purpose of which was to streamline the organization and make operations more efficient.
After the change, the old, rather large deliveries were organized into new types of teams. Each team is responsible for its own content, for example the World team handles foreign news, and the Politics team handles political news. The names of the teams were also updated to meet the needs of the online age.
“To our readers the change will hopefully be reflected in better content and faster response. The most important task of Hesar’s editorial office is to serve our subscribers, and I believe that with this model we will be able to respond even better to the wishes of our readers,” says the editor-in-chief Erja Yläjärvi.
As soon as Monday, readers will see the change so that the menus of the site and the application will change. The name of some departments will change, and new departments will be offered, such as investigative journalism. In addition, there will also be other small layout changes to the site, such as compacting the top of the article page.
